Interesting battle of the polls taking shape in Ontario. At best, it shows that Ontario voters are in liberal doh-doh land, still.
This morning, a Sun Media-Leger Marketing poll places John Tory’s Ontario Progressive Conservatives in the lead over the McGuinty Liberals.
TORONTO—The provincial Conservatives—propelled by the positive public impression of their leader, John Tory—have edged ahead of the Dalton McGuinty Liberals, a new Sun Media-Leger Marketing poll has found.
The Conservatives now have the support of 37% of voters, compared to 35% for the ruling Grits.
While the results are a statistical tie, the poll also found that Tory leads both McGuinty and NDP Leader Howard Hampton in favourable leadership numbers.
The New Democrats hold the support of 18% of people polled, while “other parties” are at 10%.
But SES Research, the polling company that predicted the last federal election with astounding accuracy (within 1/10 of one percentage point) SES Research just polled as well and their poll puts the Liberals ahead by eight points.
