If I understand correctly, Liberal leadship contender (and possibly our next yummy Liberal Prime Minister!) Bob Rae thinks our great nation’s Prime Minister, whom he “can’t stand”, is “American-style”!
But at least Rae’s not “petulant”.
Yes the extreme berserk left-wing nutbar liberal-left fundamentalist calls Harper “right-wing”. Then again, most everyone is “right wing” when you’re a far leftist like the socialist Bob Rae, and most everyone is sensible by comparison. American-style Bill Clinton would be an extreme right-winger compared to Bob Rae. And sensible. See what I mean?

STRATFORD—Former Ontario premier Bob Rae told about 40 area Liberals here yesterday he “can’t stand” Prime Minister Stephen Harper and is determined to knock off his Conservative government with its “right-wing Republican agenda.”Rae, one of 11 candidates vying for the federal Liberal leadership, said he knows “how to defeat Tories. I’ve done it twice.”
He was referring to his role helping topple Joe Clark’s Conservatives

Conservatives, with an emphasis on the PROGRESSIVE —Joel]
as an NDP MP in 1979 and later, as Ontario NDP leader, teaming up with the Liberals to knock off the Progressive Conservative regime of Frank Miller in 1985.
He described Harper as “narrow and authoritarian and paranoid of the media.”
Rae said the next federal election is likely to come any time and be “the fight of our generation.”
[…] He was without humour when asked to comment on an anti-poverty protest that tried but failed to disrupt the opening-night gala of the Stratford Festival last night.
Rae and his wife, Arlene, planned to attend.

It ain’t over until the fat lady sings. Of course Bob Rae would be offended at my gender-specific identification of the fat one who sings because although he “can’t stand” our Prime Minister, he’s a “tolerant liberal” and he’s oh so “progressive”.
