A visitor named Ross wrote me imploring me to put up a link to the video clip of the news conference in which Paul Martin and Belinda Stronach announced their cute little traitorous conspiracy. In particular, the part where Martin unwittingly admitted through a lapse in his prepared farcical speech, that it all had to do with getting the numbers in order to satisfy his lust for power; and then the media’s shocking reaction to that.
Ross was rightly put off by “…his opening remarks yesterday that Stronach’s defection had nothing to do with the vote Thursday, to loud laughter from the Ottawa press corps. The CBC certainly makes no mention of this completely inane remark, nor the press corps reaction…The fact that Martin [would] even make such a stupid remark is in my opinion a clear indicator of the contempt Martin has for the average Canadian’s intelligence.”
I was thoroughly disgusted as well. What struck me, though, since nobody in the media made an issue of this afterwards, was that they obviously weren’t laughing at him (as they should have been), but rather with him.
It’s as frightening as it is repugnant. And it is in fact a sign of contempt for the citizens of our country from both the liberal media and the Prime Minister himself (to say nothing of Belinda Stronach).
And it shows yet again the perfidy of the liberal media. They’re not watching out for you, they’re watching out for liberalism and the liberal-left—their political friends, masters, and benefactors.
Here’s the link. Cue it to the 2:20 mark if you want to get right to the point in question—the rest is simply revolting fluff.
