Brand Canada: ‘We’ll just let the tourists decide what Canada is’
The Canadian Tourism Commission has finally put to rest the matter of how Canada should brand itself as a tourist destination. And our image won’t involve Mounties, moose or mountains. Nor will it depict us as urban, hip and multicultural. Rather, after seven months of soul-searching, the CTC has come to a stunning conclusion: We’ll just let the tourists decide what Canada is.
Wow. I wonder if that means the benevolent liberals running this country with their huge ideologically-driven governments will start to also let Canadians decide what Canada is, instead of imposing their vision on us by government decree, censorship, policies, rules, “Canadian Content”, the Broadcast Act, the state-run media, social re-engineering…….
Even after all of that—no, because of all of that, nobody even in Canada has the foggiest clue what we are except “not American”. Oh and that we invest our nation’s treasure on taxpayer-funded abortions for all who want one, promote gay marriage, pot-smoking, and prostitution, as some sort of quixotic “Canadian virtues”.
I continue to wonder if all of that is really what Canadians actually “want”. But then they never ask us, they just tell us.
