A group in Boston is planning a “straight pride parade” which they’re dubbing “Super Happy Fun America.” The grand marshal is a notable gay political activist who abhors the left. I could end this post right here and it would be a good one.
As if to prove that this straight group is the funnest group in America today, the story at TheDailyWire.com includes this, which made me laugh out loud:
“Super Happy Fun America advocates on behalf of the straight community in order to build respect, inclusivity, equality, diversity, unity, solidarity, dignity, social mobility, empowerment, sustainability, justice, awareness, intersectionality, human rights, education, access, participation, dialogue, visibility, tolerance, and alliances with people from all walks of life,” the group’s website states. “We encourage everyone to embrace our community’s diverse history, culture, and identity regardless of sexual orientation.”
“Straight people are an oppressed majority,” reads a quote from the group’s president John Hugo. “We will fight for the right of straights everywhere to express pride in themselves without fear of judgement and hate. The day will come when straights will finally be included as equals among all of the other orientations.”
I could write another post just about the backlash against this parade by the ever-so outraged — and yet inclusive and tolerant — liberal media, and by the usual suspects amongst the Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube, um, “stars.” That would be another super happy fun post, and it would leave you in stitches — the Super Happy Fun America website actually has their own good video compilation (although it’s audio-challenged).
Right in its name and concept, if you are an even remotely normal human, you’d gotta love it. A good trolling like this is worth its weight in gold. A good push-back like a “straight pride parade” is worth its weight in whatever’s heavier than gold.
But while liberals and leftists are content with doing their usual hideous faux manufactured outrage and humorlessness routine, demonstrating that they are not at all tolerant or respectful of the diversity and justice and unity and empowerment (etc.) of this group of proud straight people, some have gone too far. The group’s organizers have received threatening envelopes containing mysterious substances (meant to emulate the terroristic anthrax scare), which is now under state and FBI investigation. Turns out the substance was glitter, but the contents of the enclosed letter have not been divulged.
But hey, writer of this post, that isn’t very open-minded or inclusive or tolerant of the good and decent tolerant and moral set. You’re right, reader, this is ironic, since we’re constantly instructed that we must all be accepting and tolerant and open-minded, nay embracing, and a whole bunch of other social-justice-y words, of the gayfolk; and this would seem to make them obnoxious hypocrites — and some among them so extreme that they would actually commit terrorism and felonies to make their point about tolerance.
Which is part of what makes a thing like this so seriously necessary.
