State-run CBC: “Separation of Church and State” OFF, during Liberal Party scandal

I blogged on Tuesday about how the state-run CBC, on their state-run Newsworld channel, on their major 11:00 AM newscast, broadcast the story of “something Christian” in their first place spot for the first time in their history.  Yes, the Pope died, days before, and the CBC was all over it.

One can’t be sure if it’s because they were gleeful that the old geezer conservative religious dude finally kicked it and they were relishing the possibility of being able to finally get on with the whole “progressive” thing without him looking over their shoulder, and more speedily so; or if it was because the Liberal Party—their masters, their sugar-daddies, their liberal version of sacred saviors and heavenly fathers—were being blasted with the spectacle of a huge corruption scandal, the likes of which this country has never known in its history.  I think it’s the latter.

Being a state-run and state-owned news outfit, you’d think they’d put religion aside just for one second.  They’re state-owned, after all, and they’re all about the separation of church and state.  Well normally

The scandal story took third place.  And then they only barely covered it.

Today on the state-run people’s web site, the giant multi-million-dollar CBC.ca site, the main headlines don’t even include the scandal.  This, the day after the most horrific scandal in this country’s history, by far, has been revealed.

The weather in Saskatchewan was one of the three main headlines.
