Joy Warkentin said management had made a generous offer that would see Ontario’s college teachers become among the highest paid in the country.

But late in the day, the union called for binding arbitration, saying “no negotiated settlement is possible with the current management bargaining team in place.”

Ted Montgomery, chairperson of the OPSEU bargaining team, urged a quick resolution, warning further delays in resolving the two-week-old strike could jeopardize the semester for students.
