More “man-made global warming” skeptics from the science community

Thanks to Paul for sending this along.  This fits in well with so many blog entries and columns posted here.  Like “31,072 scientists sign petition against ‘man-made global warming’ theory and Kyoto” posted a few weeks ago, or “Joel’s NewsQuips: Over 400 scientists lash out at phony ‘man-made global warming’ consensus’” (for more, do a search here using “scientists” as the search word), none of which —NONE— attracting any media attention whatsoever.

Myth of Consensus Explodes: APS Opens Global Warming Debate

Michael Asher (Blog) – July 16, 2008 9:35 PM

“Considerable presence” of skeptics

The American Physical Society, an organization representing nearly 50,000 physicists, has reversed its stance on climate change and is now proclaiming that many of its members disbelieve in human-induced global warming.  The APS is also sponsoring public debate on the validity of global warming science.  The leadership of the society had previously called the evidence for global warming “incontrovertible.”

In a posting to the APS forum, editor Jeffrey Marque explains,“There is a considerable presence within the scientific community of people who do not agree with the IPCC conclusion that anthropogenic CO2 emissions are very probably likely to be primarily responsible for global warming that has occurred since the Industrial Revolution.” …

Editor’s Comments

With this issue of Physics & Society, we kick off a debate concerning one of the main conclusions of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the UN body which, together with Al Gore, recently won the Nobel Prize for its work concerning climate change research. There is a considerable presence within the scientific community of people who do not agree with the IPCC conclusion that anthropogenic CO2 emissions are very probably likely to be primarily responsible for the global warming that has occurred since the Industrial Revolution. Since the correctness or fallacy of that conclusion has immense implications for public policy and for the future of the biosphere, …

Note that the APS has clarified that its Physics and Society Forum is merely one unit within the APS, and its views do not reflect those of the Society at large.

Meanwhile, today, the state-owned CBC manages to report on some total nincompoopious brain poo that their hero, The Prophet Al Gore uttered yesterday, and the socialist-reliant propaganda outfit did it on their obnoxious, oxymoronic, and incongruously named “Business” segment.

Yes to Al Gore and anything far-leftist.

EXTRA – ANTIDOTE TO above-noted BULLCRAP:

Read our latest Ann Coulter column, “THIS IS NOT A DRILL”.  Here’s a snippet to get you through the next five seconds:

…The current Democratic mantra on energy is: “We can’t drill our way out of this problem.” Apparently their plan is to talk our way out of this problem.

Democrats are also alleging that the oil companies are sitting on millions of acres of oil but are refusing to drill—presumably because oil company executives hate the American people and perversely don’t want to make money. Manifestly, those acres are being explored for oil or have already come up dry.

If the Democrats really wanted oil companies to find more oil, they’d allow oil companies to drill offshore and to drill in ANWR, which we happen to know is bursting with oil.

But they don’t. They don’t want drilling. They don’t want more oil. They want humans to ride bicycles and then to die. We deserve it: We were mean to the polar bears….
