Mistake?

Sometimes “mistakes” are designed by Liberal strategists, I suspect, in order to secure help (in other contexts, it’s sometimes called “getting back a little o’ that sponsorship”, I believe) from the usual suspects.

My French language ability is not up to the level needed to testify in court, without potentially making myself look silly.  And my usual translator isn’t available.  But my best effort at reading this French report tells me that the Liberal Party is either losing control—not just of the election—but of their party and of their chances in Quebec; or they are deploying the assets because they’re falling into desperation mode.  (Hat tip to John B.)

This ostensibly “secret” internal Liberal Party document was sent by Liberal Party operatives—by accident—to journalists through their Blackberries (wireless electronic message units).  Clearly it was meant only for Liberal eyes.  Oh!  My mistake!  It WAS sent to journalists!

Do you suppose this was a “mistake”?  Do you suppose the Liberals didn’t really mean to send it to its journalists division in the CBC and elsewhere?

It seems to indicate that the Liberals are afraid of losing no less than 11 of the 21 seats they won in Quebec in 2004, and have targeted them for extra TLC this time.  They list the seats below in the Radio-Canada report.  It also indicates the seats they deem marginal and those that are safe.
