Maclean’s unleashes its latest liberal ‘n Obama promotion and kiss-up edition

Editor’s note:  A quote used in this piece was originally and wrongly attributed to Mario Canseco.  It was actually made by Fen Hampson, director of the Norman Paterson School of International Relations at Carleton University.  The correction has been made. My apologies to Mr. Canseco for the error.

That’s some solid journalism right there, folks.

In actual fact, it is of course barf-worthy.  The pains they must have gone through to find that perfect picture.  Hey whatever happened to that one where he was caught trying to enter the White House through a window instead of the door?  Too reminiscent of President George Bush when he tried to leave a room through the wrong (but actual) door once?  (See this video which explores this phenomenon and has the added benefit of an interview with our Rebecca Hagelin)

Yes, once again, for the 800th time, the Obama-luvin’ liberals’ Maclean’s magazine division is touting butt-kissing their Barack Obama in their latest edition, in light of The Great Obama’s upcoming visit to Canada.  (This anti-everything-conservative bias is well-rehearsed and long standing—see some other Maclean’s cover examples below, and my 2004 blog entry referred to way down this blog entry)

In this edition, we learn that what we “NEED TO KNOW” the most about “CANADA’S LOVE AFFAIR WITH BARACK OBAMA” is that the likes of the ever so objective and unbiased Fen Hampson, director of the Norman Paterson School of International Relations at Carleton University thinks this:  “Harper’s challenge in this upcoming summit is to see if he can get some of the Obama glow to shine on him.”

Holy glow-y shinerama, Batman.

Having established their unbridled, pathological obsession and Slobbering Love Affair bona fides with regard to The Great Obama, I wonder how the reporting is going to go, moving forward.

I think this obvious bias is just a little rich and ironic, given one of their news releases, which I blogged about back in 2004, and which read in part:

Are Canadians ready for Loudmouth Fox News?
In the issue hitting newsstands today, Maclean’s asks if we’re ready for the rude and rabidly pro-Bush Fox News Channel…

“Rude and rabidly”, huh?
