Liberal Hollywood shrugs: What’s next on the agenda?

Although the Reuters story I read was peppered with ironic ha-has and is replete with oh-so-hilarious euphemisms as if to convey a sense of golly what a fun bunch we liberals are, the actual story they’re reporting on is an utterly unconscionable display of the ubiquitous liberal irreverence for human life and the basic family unit.

Naturally, though, the liberals in question have their sententious remarks to make about those who dare question their ungodly morals and ethics.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – […] True Entertainment and Brighter Pictures, production companies owned by international reality giant Endemol (“Big Brother”) in New York and London, respectively, are co-developing a reality series that would pit a group of male contestants against each other for the honor of serving as a sperm donor to a woman willing to be impregnated.

The twist—there’s always a twist in reality land—is that the woman must choose between two finalists. One will be determined on the basis of biological compatibility, the other on personal grounds. Either science or love will prevail.

[…] Weinstock [co-founder and president of True Entertainment] argues that it is precisely the topicality of “Mum” that makes it not only viable but also socially conscious. “We think this show is tapping into something empowering choice in women’s lives,” he says.

Pushing an agenda?  Liberals will deny it as they do everything else, even though the company’s president says it’s all about just exactly that.  Well that and cash, presumably.

As the story goes on to say, ethicist Josephine Quintavalle put it in perspective for U.K. trade newspaper Broadcast: “The end result of this titillation of the public is a child.”

Doesn’t anyone on the left see that?  Apparently not.  Or perhaps they’ll counsel the woman to simply kill the baby before it is born in a live-on-TV abortion, perhaps opening the door to another reality show.  Possible title:  “Vote liberal”.
