WHAT country are we in?!
The good news is that the reporter at least referred to this all as “state-sanctioned” when referring to what is actually not merely “state sanctioned”. He left out the “state-owned”, “state-run”, the “big government”, and the “total BS” part. Also could have added “Hugo Chavez”, “Karl Marx”, “Mao Tse Tung”, and other terms. Like “insane”.
(SIDEBAR: I once again direct your attention to the term “Corporation” in describing what is absolutely nothing but a 100% GOVERNMENT operation — a division of the BC government.)

Now, apparently all liberals and socialists — “progressives” — think building a national or international gambling syndicate is a core function of government. Government isn’t big enough yet, and isn’t involved in enough of our lives yet. And it doesn’t intrude in and compete with its own citizens in the free market enough, yet.
Government, to their way of thinking, must get bigger and must bilk more taxpayer cash out of citizens. Liberals, socialists and progressives all agree that it’s a core function of government to (a) Sell gambling products and—they hope —DUPE citizens out of their cash (how honorable!); (b) once again compete against private citizens already in this business; (c) promote what many credibly describe as a horrible vice, which; (d) is proven to be addictive to a great many, and which ruins families (maybe they see this as a good thing), and which has some horrible, negative impacts on society as a whole; (e) has extreme criminal element involvement; and (f) should have absolutely, utterly, NOTHING to do with government, or the governing of a nation or any jurisdiction therein, whatsoever, obviously.
Therefore it’s a perfect fit for liberal-leftist, socialist and progressive government and their political parties.
THIS is what liberals do.
