I blogged last month that in Ontario, they’ve furthered the liberal ambition of changing the definition of the Canadian family (or what they call “progressing” it into a “liberal” version of it) by eliminating “Man”, “Woman”, “Wife”, “Husband”, “Widow”, “Widower” from all Ontario law. Of course they also promote gay ‘marriage’ there as well, as we all know by now. The liberal-left can’t stop talking about it.
Jeff Jacoby, an excellent columnist at the Boston Globe writes—quite rightly alluding to his own prescience of two years ago—about how far it will all go. And it ain’t pretty. Unless you’re a liberal—then it’s extremely exciting.
Destroying traditional families is exciting to liberals, because after that’s done, they can then get onto legalizing prostitution and pot-smoking and making more free tattoos available to prison inmates and enacting more socialist daycare and other universal welfare programs…
Back in 2003, a few days after the highest court in Massachusetts unveiled a constitutional right to same-sex marriage, I ventured a prediction.
“Sooner than you think, it will become improper to speak of unique sex roles in family life,” I wrote. “The meanings and status associated with words like ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ will be erased from the law; most likely, the words themselves will be replaced in statutes with the unisex ‘spouse,’ just as ‘father’ and ‘mother’ will give way to ‘parent.’ “
