Government spending of our money is up up up

With no end in sight—in fact they’re falling over themselves “promising” (I call it a “threat”) to spend still more of it.

And what annoys me and all right-thinking people is that this is now officially seen as “a good thing” in Canada today.  All political parties are tripping over themselves trying to outspend our money, rather than race to see who can spend the least, as it should be.  It’s an astonishing and dangerous turn of events.

The atrocious over-taxation of Canadians continues unabated, even as new figures show the surplus to date is huge.  And the liberal-left refuse to cut taxes.  They continue to believe that we’re too stupid to spend our own money and that they can spend it more wisely for us.  This, even as we read today that in order to somehow get our ill-named “DART” (“emergency”!) rescue team to Pakistan, we have to call a rental agency and rent a RUSSIAN airplane because we can’t even move our troops there ourselves.

But I found this statement in the story to be informative:

For August, the government reported a $300-million deficit, compared with a surplus of $300 million in 2004. Total revenues were actually up $400 million over August 2004, but spending was $1.1 billion higher.

Vote liberal.
