In another sneering editorial decision, the liberals’ Globe & Mail featured on their front page today a page full of pictures of President George Bush in Albania. As I wrote on Monday June 11, the real story is that he was treated as an absolute hero, in a country where postage stamps bearing his likeness are in use and the street name in front of their parliament has been changed to his name —and all of this contrary to what one might expect given the information fed to us by the liberals’ media, here.
But the Globe & Mail wasn’t interested in that story today—days after that visit (today, they sheepishly indicated that his visit “was considered as historic”). No. Rather, today, they picked up on a rumor being shot around the far left blogosphere and left-wing smear sites, that while shaking hands with the Albanians, the buffoon Bush (as they would love to have us see him—he’s a conservative, dontchaknow) had his wrist watch ripped off by one of the erstwhile fawning Albanians. Sucker! Fool! Halliburton!
Nice shot, Globe & Mail. Oh and also false, according to other, more trustworthy media. And, for example, this AP story the Globe and Mail has access to which contains this: “I have never seen such a ludicrous story,” President Bush said of the media’s coverage. “Unbelievable.” But maybe they don’t care about true or false.
By the way, in their original story of Bush in Albania, days ago, it was covered not on the front page as it was (sneeringly), today—it was of course covered on page… nine.
EXTRA:
The ever so respectful and apparently public-school-educated liberals who read the Globe and Mail used the Globe’s comments section online to share their wisdom, which includes the likes of:
—“Can he even tell the time?”
—“{BTW, if you’ve never watched Bush’s elaborate security ruses, just watch Mr. Harper. The two are using the same play book.}”
—“Well, at least there is place he can go and retire after leaving office.”
—“Bush’s watch must have been a digital or it would have been useless to him.”
And in a typical display of liberal-left tolerance and compassion and respect and multicultural appreciation, some wrote:
—“Finally., A country that Bush is capable of running..”
—“Bush finally found a country that seems to like him, well, so it’s Albania, home of Dracula and obviously since they don’t have sat. tv so not so up to date on USA foreign policy, that’s ok…maybe we can get Harpo to move there shortly after he’s finally removed..he might too be poular there.”
I’m sure if these liberal-left professors had the slightest clue that Albania is largely Muslim, they wouldn’t disrespect them quite so much.
P.S. Dracula is from Romania, geniuses.
