Liberal Frenchman Barack Dion—oh sorry Stephane Dion—tried his very best to excite the crowd today at a rally for Liberal candidate 
Bare-Ass Bob Rae (seen at right exposing his bare ass on nation-wide state-owned CBC in order to prove he is a solid world leader, liberal-left “progressive”-style). Dion’s speech was ostensibly to help launch Bare-Ass Bob’s bid to become an MP in the March 17 byelection.
Unfortunately, I think

Stephane only confused them, and un-rallied them.
The applause after his rallying effort lasted a total of nine seconds. I counted it carefully. Nine seconds. This was not like a Barack rally. This was like a CBC staff picnic to hear their latest Neilsen Ratings.
Glimpse of the next election?
Dion appeared to be trying on some o’ dat Barack Obama shtick, possibly for his use during the next election. A test perhaps.
Obama’s ever so awesome speeches all include a whole lot of the word “hope”, as I’m sure we can all recall. (Yes we can!)
And apparently Dion has decided “hope” is also his theme. Pictured above-left is Dion as he said the word “hope”. He did pronounce the H. So that’s progress.
Here’s part of what Barack Dion said today at the Bare-Ass Bob rally (read it using an imaginary French accent such that you can’t really understand any of what you’re reading):
And then our party will say to Canadians: keep hope. Hope! Because the Liberal Party will give you a much more generous future. Much much, uh much more [giggling] much more generous future than the kind of Canada Mr. Harper is building. Will come the time well when Canadians will have the choice and I’m very confident .. that both in English et en francais [then spoke in French, then back to English] … a fairer Canada, a greener Canada, for ourselfs [yes, ourselfs], our children, the generations to come, and the role of Canada in the world. Vive Bob Rae!
Huh.
That “Vive Bob Rae” thing at the end is a kind o’ French “Yes we can!” thang, I guess. Vive les Liberals!
And then the crowd clapped, sort of, for exactly nine seconds, and Bare-Ass Bob started talking.
Good times.
