Child sex ring uncovered in NFLD

A prostitution and pornography ring involving at least 40 young girls—as young as 12 years old—has been uncovered in Newfoundland, it was announced today.  (Hat tip to conservativegal)

Two days ago, the Conservatives were sworn in as the new government.  Early today they made clear—see earlier blog entry), that among other tough law & order measures, they will be raising the age of sexual consent from 14 which is what the Liberals favored, to a more appropriate 16, which as sensible people know is moving in the right direction.

Larry ('conservatives are barbarians' Campbell Naturally liberals feel that is going in the wrong direction.  If I remember correctly, “Conservatives will drive Canada backwards because they aren’t ‘progressives’ like we Liberals are”.  Some said that Conservatives would drive Canada back “to the 1950s”, others said “to the dark ages”, and still others just left it as an undetermined “backwards”.  And of course former Vancouver mayor Larry Campbell informed us over national radio that conservatives are “barbarians”.  Again, that’s “barbarians”.  (Then, Liberal Prime Minister Paul Martin appointed him to the Senate.)

You’ll remember the Liberals —and the you’ve got to be kidding party—  they’re the ones who had plans to legalize prostitution in our country.  Darn the luck—they were given the boot.

And who can forget the Liberals’ grand program of importing strippers as a part of their official liberal Immigration and visa policy which, they explained, would lead to a better Canada with all the “Canadian values” ’n stuff.  Ahh.  Good times!

Read more about that “strippers ’n liberals Canadian value” here, here, and here

That’s how liberals think we can attract the best and the brightest to our great country.

Nfld porn ring may involve 40 victims

An investigation into a porn and prostitution ring that allegedly involved 40 young girls in Newfoundland has prompted the police chief in St. John’s to suggest that the province has lost its innocence.
Global National Poll
Richard Deering, chief of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, confirmed Wednesday that a team of 10 officers is completing interviews with the young victims, several search warrants have been executed and arrests are expected within days.

“It involves allegations that young people in our community were being put in a situation that involved sexual exploitation or other crimes of a sexual nature,” Deering said in an interview. “I don’t think it will be a lot of time between now and when arrests are made.”

He said police are seeking expert advice on what charges can be laid, and how to gain access to seized computers.

“We read about it in other places and think how dreadful it is, but when it hits our community to the magnitude we think we’ve come across here, it’s really appalling to us,” Deering said.

“Clearly we’ve lost our innocence in relation to incidents of this type.”

[…] No other specifics or details have been provided, other than the fact that the crimes have been described as being “repulsive.” […]
