Canadian government-run health care couldn’t fix premier’s heart valve (a follow-up)

Followup to the story of the progressive premier of Newfoundland and Labrador and his highly ironic, to say the least, decision to get his health needs taken care of in the in the United States, instead of in Canada where health care is “free” and “just super” (as reported by all liberals and leftists).  See LET THEM EAT CAKE, EH:  Canadian provincial premier heads to U.S. for heart operation.

Premier Danny Williams spoke today about it.

“”…It’s not a typical open heart surgery where your arteries are replaced … so, they [his Canadian doctors] recommended that I look at going outside the province … what was ultimately done to me, the surgery that I eventually got … was not offered to me in Canada.”

Adding insult to irony, it was reported on the state-owned CBC.  It is of course also being reported at all the other, perfectly — no, more — capable news media like CTV and Global and at the Globe and Mail… which instead of being state-owned and socialism-reliant, are all owned by private citizens, and which the CBC competes against (and does so extremely poorly —the private TV networks have many times more viewers than the horrible state-owned CBC —including its newscasts).  And that’s despite the CBC getting well in excess of a BILLION taxpayer dollars per year, and tons of regulatory aids as well, such as it being mandated by law that all satellite and cable carriers offer it at no additional cost to all Canadians (take that, Fox News Channel!).

But at least we’re still allowed to get private, instead of state, news and entertainment.  It’s against the law in Canada to pay for your own basic health care needs with your own money, in your own country.  Against the law

The procedure went very well and the premier is currently resting at his condo in Sarasota, Florida, recuperating.  We wish him well.  Say hi to President Obama!

EXTRA HEART HEALTH NEWS
Just reported:  Former Vice President Dick Cheney has just been hospitalized —in the U.S. rather than Canada — for chest pains.  (Countdown to CBC commenters bashing the crap out of him and hoping he dies:  5…4…3…)
