Can I refresh that beer for you? (A server update)

On-time — early, actually — and under budget. It’s not the government, silly!

Everything appears to be in order following a server update. You’re reading this, right? But now the site may go offline for periods of time while I upgrade the look ‘n feel which requires AlmaLinux 8 to take a break.

For those of you who are out of the loop, or are just stupid, PTBC got new server software this week. AlmaLinux 8 is the server’s name, and this is her picture, um, in my head.

The server shown atop this article in the feature photo is her pal, also named AlmaLinux 8 (because again, this is all in me noggin).

ANYWAY, so far, so good with the server upgrade. Now I will embark on changing the look and feel of the site, which is overdue now. I never did get that last look lookin’ and feelin’ all that great. I’ve been working on the new look for a bit. Why? I don’t know about you but I need something new to look at PTBC-wise (also, PM-wise and more generally, government-wise. Let’s hope that all happens in quick succession.).

So with the help of the on-and-off “This Site Is Offiline Getting Maintenance” screens and the fantastical AlmaLinux 8, I plan on getting this done by the start of the coming week. I mean the site update, not the PM and government thing. I can’t do everything.

How’s your cocktail?
