While the state-owned CBC division of the Liberal/NDP party is laying people off this week, we at PTBC are upgrading our server this week. (By the way, that’s some damn fine firing-timing, there, CBC. Rrrright before Christmas. Nice!)
I’m really more concerned about Spotify laying people off this week, because they’re an actual thing that matters to more than literally 10 people, and they don’t hate me, and they don’t make me angry, sad, or embarrassed; nor do they live to remind me how terrible I am as a white man, as a “colonizer,” a conservative, and that I’m especially troubling since I’m not woke and progressive-left like all the he/hims, she/hers, and they/thems at the CBC cult HQ. And Spotify doesn’t get bailed out by the overburdened taxpayer every single day they exist. And they’re privately owned and wildly successful (notwithstanding eceonomic downturns caused by idiot governments) —and so they’re just like us. (Please note PTBC’s market cap is not — not — $37.89 billion US as depicted below. This is Spotify’s market sheet. I’m glad I could clarify this.)
But back to us. Our new server software will be AlmaLinux 8. You can see Alma pictured above and below, serving. (This is what I see in my mind anyway.) She’s a hard worker and is really up with the times, she’s quick like a bunny, knows all the hip jargon, and is super smart.
So… not much will happen here this week, article-wise (not much happens any week these days, I know, and I hope to change that with Alma’s able help), but, see, we are at least actively ramping up for an election year, and Alma will be a big help in the kitchen and front of the house.
I know this means nothing to most people, but it also means almost nothing to us.
Don’t forget to tip Alma generously – like 18-20%, bucko.
