Bill Graham: Not a moron. A Liberal. So it’s OK.

Unlike George Bush, the Yale and Harvard graduate and President of the United States “moron”, this liberal deserves a pass.  Because he’s only a liberal.  Clearly, we hold Americans and particularly conservative Americans to a much higher standard.

Just heard on CBC Newsworld:  Defence Minister Bill Graham telling us that Canada is increasing its aid to the Asian tsunami crisis, says that he’s been in touch with our Health Minister and former British Columbia Premier, um, err, stutter, Uhdjall Doosanna.  His name is actually Ujjal Dosanjh, or, as Graham might say, some cotton-pickin’ foreign name.  He also nearly pooped while trying to utter the word reconnaissance.  It is a big word.

He mentioned the big word in relation to his announcement that a 12-member reconnaissance team will go to the completely devastated area to make recommendations on whether Canada’s “DART” (rapid disaster response team) should be deployed.  A committee.  To decide, days late, whether or not to deploy a “rapid” response team down the road.  Is this a liberal government or what?  Perhaps they could phone the Americans and ask if they figure a little help is needed down there.  Or ask a toaster.

He then said that various ministers and the Prime Minister himself will “immediately” return home from their vacations.  “Immediately”, to liberals, means many days after a disaster strikes, when the negative local media heat really starts to pile on, and they realize that wherever they are vacationing in the world, the name “Canada” is not ever mentioned even once vis-a-vis the Asian crisis, in any of the tropical media, making their presumed “V.I.P.” status they’d been bragging about at their hotel’s El Chichi beach cabaÃ
