After all the liberal media’s pernicious bashing of capitalism and their high-fiving of government “stimulus” plans and bailouts and government-run “health care” (all at the tacit instruction of liberal-left politicians and sundry Michael Moores, who guide their every move), Americans find politicians to be an even more unfavorable group than the CEOs that liberals encourage us to hate. And journalists are also viewed unfavorably by a majority of Americans (although Democrats view them favorably, which is so telling that it’s just funny).
Americans find the bedrock of conservatism: small business owners and those who start up businesses, along with church pastors, as the most favorable by far, with nearly all Americans viewing them favorably.
Americans Now View Congress As Least Respected Job
With the health care debate raging in Washington, D.C., there’s one change Americans clearly believe in: Members of Congress have now surpassed corporate CEOs to hold the least favorably regarded profession in the country.
[Other points in their report:]
• Even 56% of Democrats have an unfavorable view of Congress although their party controls both the House and the Senate. Of course, their opposition pales next to the 86% of Republicans and 81% of adults not affiliated with either party who have an unfavorable opinion of Congress.• Government workers are more critical of CEOs than [are] entrepreneurs and those who work for a private company.
• Next come journalists and reporters, seen favorably by 43% and unfavorably by 54%. Those with a very favorable opinion outnumber those with a very unfavorable view by two-to-one. Here there is a noticeable partisan divide: While 58% of Democrats view journalists favorably, 70% of Republicans and 55% of unaffiliateds do not.

I wonder how Americans and Canadians view politicians who ALSO spent nearly their entire adult lives having never started or run a business or even worked at one; and whose only jobs have been in government, or in journalism, or in government-funded academia. And who may not even know the name of a church pastor, much less include them as an important part of their lives.
