Despite their more than three years in opposition, the Libs obviously still see themselves as the country’s Divine-Right-to-Govern party. And because they cannot conceive of anyone else in charge, they cannot imagine how Canadians can conceive of anyone else in charge either. So they mistakenly assume voters are as desirous of a vote as they are.
Their current rush to get to the polls again—a fall election would be Canada’s fourth in five years—demonstrates just how their absence from power consumes them. Not being in charge gnaws at their souls. It is like an itch they cannot reach, a thirst they cannot quench, a hunger they cannot satisfy. …
