The other c-word

imageCrocuses in Vancouver.

You thought I was going to say climate change didn’t you?  Or that one the CBC (hey there’s another one!) told us to chat about with our families today—the real c-word (it being Sunday, and the CBC, I of course mean the vile word for the v-word—not the Jesus one).

No, my annual tradition continues:  This is where I toss politics aside for a minute, and after a nice leisurely day outside (with no coat),  post some pictures of spring bulbs poking up at our house in early February (OK so I’m a little late this year).

I do this primarily because it makes some folks east of the west coast jealous.  And of course because it makes some enviro-nuts crazy with the climate change chatter, scientifically proving they know exactly nothing.  (The debate is over, yadda.)

At above left we have some snowdrops hanging out with the crocuses.  Our yard is very multicultural that way.  We do insist they all speak English, however.

The snowdrops aren’t very “tolerant” of the crocuses.  Some of the other flowers in the garden accuse them of being crocophobic.  We ignore all that idiotic chatter.

Our tulip bulbs and daffodils are also coming up.  The daffodils are definitely gay.  Not that there’s anything wrong with that.  (Send angry finger-wagger emails to .)

image I liked this one because the snowdrop has a li’l bee on it. Although it’s obviously very industrious and making tremendous progress on its own, the you’ve got to be kidding party’s Jack (“ass”) Layton will be all over its butt trying to unionize it and victimize it and offering it all manner of universal social programs, it being a “worker” bee from a “working family” and all.  (Then of course next year it will arrive later, work half a day, and sit around all day smoking pot and demanding crap like “pollen entitlements” from the pollen program.  And the Queen bee?  Abortion city.)

One year I actually had a liberal enviro-genius email me telling me that this early blooming thing was obvious evidence of the “man-made global warming”.  I didn’t even bother replying to tell him that he’s a total moron.  Ahhh…. good times…
