That Liberal Frenchman Stephane Dion is so damn hip to the groovy beat isn’t he? “American Idol”! Wow! But of course he’s dragging out that now very, very old “Let’s all hate the President of the United States” anti-American, anti-Bush canard way too long.
And nowhere in the story at liberalvision CTV.ca does it indicate that the very odd Liberal Frenchman Stephane Dion —shockingly, the man who actually could be prime minister one day and have to face a U.S. President, and possibly even a conservative one or even this one — has as his idols “American-style” Al Gore and Bill ‘n Hillary Clinton and Howard Dean and Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore. And George Soros.
Opposition questions PM on military spending spree
Updated Sat. Jul. 21 2007 10:14 PM ET
CTV.ca News StaffPrime Minister Stephen Harper has spent more than $20 billion so far on his military spending spree. But the Opposition is accusing Harper of an American-style defence buildup that seems “more attuned to offensive warfare” than peacekeeping.
[Joel interjects: Then they repeat it just to make sure you dumb canooks understand: it’s an “American-style” thang!]
The opposition leaders agree the military needed an upgrade, but they accuse Harper of a U.S.-style defence buildup.
“We have a prime minister who has George W. Bush as American Idol,” Liberal Leader Stephane Dion said. …
We have as a Liberal Party leader a man utterly bereft of ideas. And a media that is totally obsequious to such liberals.
