Nova Scotia’s Supreme Court OKs gay marriage

Nova Scotia is the sixth Canadian province to have its Supreme Court (not its lawmakers, incidentally) allow gay marriage.

According to a story in the National Post,

The ruling by Justice Heather Robertson effectively changes the definition of marriage in Nova Scotia to ‘‘the lawful union of two persons to the exclusion of all others.’’

The decision will not be opposed by either the province or the government of Canada.

Far be it for a lawmaker, representing the will of the people, tell the appointed Supreme Court overlords what to decide for us.
