Alberta Premier Ralph Klein just announced moments ago that he is stepping down as leader of the Alberta Progressive Conservative Party and as Premier come this fall/winter (depends when leadership contest selects new leader).
While he deserves a lot of accolades, I can’t help think this is a good thing, as I’ve said before. I for one will have calmer nerves during Canadian elections.
There are any number of great willing candidates for new leader, unlike in the case of the Liberal Party of Canada.
