Five liberal Democrats vote against Roberts

The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee (Canadians:  that’s a “democratic” thing) voted on Thursday in favor of the evil bastard John Roberts’ nomination for U.S. Supreme Court.

His final confirmation will (finally) come next week when the whole Senate (elected Senate! Canadians:  that’s what they call “democracy”… again!) votes next week.

(Oops!  The whole Senate votes next week. Canadians:  that’s still more of that ridiculous “democracy”.)

Of course as we know, in Canada, Supreme Court judges are chosen by Prime Minister Paul Martin who simply waves his magic pink wand and appoints them at his whim, without any question, although I hear they will now accept emails from Canadians for inspiration, as a way to appease the annoying non-liberal-left freedom and democracy-lovers.

On the other hand, I understand that the Canadian Idol judges will now be chosen by the unelected Canadian Senate, and they’re sure to be Liberal-friendly Idol judges since the Canadian Senate is stacked with Liberals and leftist political hacks.  (Memo to Idol contestants: don’t sing songs with “God” in them!)

And as we know, in Canada, the Liberal-Left Prime Minister appoints Liberal-Left judges whom he’s assured might help him and his liberal fundamentalist minority special interest groups achieve their leftist political ends for what they call “their Canada” in their campaign slogans.

But back to democracy for a minute.  Five Democrats voted against Roberts to nobody’s surprise:  Senators Dianne Feinstein of California, Joseph Biden of Delaware, Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, Charles Schumer of New York and Dick Durbin of Illinois.

Senator Hillary Clinton has already indicated she intends to vote against him in the Senate.

But then she’s entitled to vote as she pleases, down there.
