I know it’s only taxpayer money so I don’t have any right to question it as a non-liberal, but His Royal Highness The Honorable Monsieur Pierre (“vive la France!”) Pettigrew’s chauffeur gets free first-class trips around the world.
I’m thinking this is all part of the Liberal Government’s “we lead the world” strategy, wherein chauffeurs from around the world will form a big huge parade line behind Pettigrew’s stretch limo and honk horns at sundry gay pride events the world over. Or it’s because “chauffeur” is a French word. Either explanation would be acceptable to the liberal voters of Canada.
Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew took his chauffeur to Europe and South America in 2001 and 2002 at a cost to taxpayers of at least $10,000, even though the driver did not transport the minister during the international visits.
