Teresa Heinz Kerry apologized for remarks she made about Laura Bush, wife of President George Bush. She’d said in a newspaper interview ”…But I don’t know that she’s ever had a real job — I mean, since she’s been grown up.”
It seems the multi-gazillionaire ketchup heiress forgot about Laura Bush being a school teacher and a librarian for a decade, before marrying, and the teeny tiny fact that she was a mother who brought up two daughters.
Apparently being a mother isn’t a “real job” to the condiment maker’s inheritor.
How unliberal of the uberliberal!
And yet, how typical….
Even when apologizing, she missed that whole “mother” stint.
Karen Hughes, an adviser to President Bush, said Heinz Kerry’s apology “made it worse because she left out the very important real job of a mother. Clearly she knows Laura Bush was a mother … who chose to stay home and rear her family. That’s a noble choice that should be celebrated not denigrated.”
And that’s a fact. I honor any parent who makes it their life’s work to raise a family.
How revealing this all is….
