That’s what I’d like to tell Brent Bozell.
In an excellent Brent Bozell media-bias article at Townhall.com, “Who are the ‘brainwashers’?” (excerpt below), we see a direct correlation between the media in the U.S. compared to what we on the right encounter every single day here in Canada but in an even more pronounced form.
The liberal-left is suddenly flummoxed and filled with indignation whenever a conservative gets a word in, especially if they can’t oppose it somehow with their liberal-left wisdom. The liberals are downright enraged when a conservative forum like this comes along and enables conservatives to write, learn and teach, without their incessant interruptions.
Just yesterday
I was challenged (by e-mail, as usual) by a new member who joined our plainly conservative discussion forum site, to “an open debate”, wrote the maddened e-mailer, “after seeing your attacks against liberal values without rebuttal.”
After I got through laughing, I replied, “Liberals don’t need rebuttal time and space, conservatives do, and that’s part of our appeal. But thanks for the chuckle.”
I sincerely doubt that he got what I was saying.
The decision of Sinclair Broadcasting to air an anti-Kerry documentary in late October is a nightmarish recipe of “creeping fascism, state propaganda, Big Brother and brainwashing.” So says the unhinged Molly Ivins, giving voice to the outrage felt by her colleagues in the news media.
Liberals are positively panicked at the idea that somewhere, on some station, at some late date, someone will say something negative about John Kerry without a moment for balance on the other side. Let’s be blunt: Welcome to our world, liberals. You’re all for propaganda and brainwashing when it’s Dan, Peter, Tom & Co. spinning wildly in your direction. In your world, a free press is defined as what happens when so-called “news” professionals sell liberalism relentlessly like a kitchen gizmo on a late-night infomercial.
