You’ve all read Ann Coulter’s columns here—she’s one of our columnists. She’s “extreme”. Didja know that? I did not know that. Did not know that. But objective fair and balanced and not-at-all liberal reporter Yashoda Sampath of “The Daily Texan” wrote a news story (no, not an editorial) to inform us that she is, in fact, an “extreme right wing pundit”. So glad I was apprised of Ann Coulter’s “extreme” thing.
Let’s play “Spot The Extremist”.
Incessant heckling and shouting culminated in an arrest Tuesday night during a speech by Ann Coulter, an extreme right-wing pundit, at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
Shouts became so pervasive during the question-and-answer session that Coulter informed the organizers she would no longer take questions if the hecklers were not silenced. For a time, the shouts were considerably lessened, until the issue of gay marriage was broached.
Coulter said she supported the definition of marriage as between a man and a woman on the basis that a good woman civilizes and inspires a man to strive for something better, leading to a question that was met with a stunned silence.
“You say that you believe in the sanctity of marriage,” said Ajai Raj, an English sophomore. “How do you feel about marriages where the man does nothing but f**k his wife up the as*?”
UT Police officers approached Raj to arrest him, resulting in a mass exodus of protesters chanting, “Let him go.”
“The person had been disruptive the entire event,” said Matt Hardigree, former Student Events Center president. “He took the opportunity to say something lewd and offensive and then made masturbatory gestures as he exited.”
But he’s not extreme, Ann Coulter, conservative, is extreme.
Note that Ann Coulter wanted the hecklers to be “silenced”. But the hecklers were not trying to “silence” Ann Coulter. Funny how that works. Free speech is different for liberals! Didja know that?
Here, we find a non-extreme, plain old citizen student, Jeremy Atkinson, holding a copy of the communist newspaper called “Socialist Worker” in the LBJ Library lobby to protest the “extreme” 104-pound woman named Ann Coulter. But he isn’t described as an “extreme left-wing pundit” since he’s only a communist, notwithstanding that communists are responsible for the slaughter of a hundred million people and forcing people to live in poverty and servitude. Which is not extreme. Got it? Good! Now you’re thinking liberal! That’s progressive!

But the really funny thing is, liberals will read this blog entry and insist that still, Ann Coulter is the extreme one.
Here’s an Ann Coulterism: Hold up a picture of Saddam Hussein and a picture of George Bush and ask a liberal which one is the evil one, and he will point to George Bush.
And that explains so much.
