CTV Newsnet/Canada AM “news anchor”/weather gal Rena Heer repeatedly calls you, me, and all of her viewing audience “you guys”. Makes me crazy.
At left are the li’l news kids as they tease an upcoming segment celebrating not Israel but Velcro. Yes, Velcro. It’s 60 this week for Israel, but 50 years for Velcro. Rena Heer (seen at far right) tells us, and I quote, “Fifty years of Velcro! Yaaaaaay!! Happy anniversary! Here have some Velcro – alright 50 years of Velcro you guys, um, now it was invented by a guy named George…”
…Must…. restrain ….my..self.
In a previous chat session, it was “Umm alright you guys now we’ve been talking so much about gas prices… “ as she introduced a story on a fella down south who has taken to riding his horse to school.
And junior high is where I feel like I am as I watch all the gals chit-chat and frolic with each other and inform you guys ‘bout stuff ‘n all that. It’s like a bad mixture of a high school audio-video class and MTV for kids.
At 9 AM Kate Wheeler takes over and suddenly it’s news for grown adults.
Additional thought: Kate Wheeler needs to break free and join Fox News Channel.
