Why is Liberal Mint-Head Dingwall getting a severance of half a million $$?

(Hat tip to the Lowell Green Show which I happen to be listening to online—and this is their topic at the moment)

I do comprehend the notion that possibly Liberal Mint-head Dingwall’s contract included a provision for a typically huge arrogant liberal government payoff if he was fired for any reason—because liberal governments are just that arrogant and spendthrift when it comes to ethics and taxpayer cash.  But I cannot believe that if he quit or was forced to quit under suspicion of possibly criminal or at least totally unethical behavior, that he would then still receive a sweet severance package. 

Scratch that.  It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest.  They’re liberals! 

The Liberal Mint-head Dingwall was only employed at the state-owned, state-run enterprise for two years.  He is reportedly going to get an equivalent of two years’ salary in severance. 

Some are rightly asking if this isn’t just Les Libranos hush money. 

[…] Opposition politicians attacked the government for its decision to negotiate a severance payment for Mr. Dingwall in addition to the pensions from his service as an MP from 1980 to 1997, and his job as head of the Mint.

In the Commons yesterday, the Tories wondered whether Mr. Dingwall was being paid to keep quiet about government scandals.
