“We Know What We Have To Do…”

Stephen Harper wants you……to tell him what you want changed in Canada, how you want the country run.
A new concept…here in Canada.  I’m not making this up.
Real democracy….no more “Culture of Entitlement.”
Read the newspapers, listen to the news, read some of the excellent posts Joel has done about the problems Canada faced under Liberal rule.
Then, tell your MP how you feel.
Tell them to “get on with the program”, in spite of the bleatings of the opposition.
We voted for change and Stephen Harper is telling us to tell them (our MP’S) how we want Canada to be run.

Tell them how you feel about the Afghanistan mission.
Tell them how you feel about daycare.
Tell them how you feel about the gun registry.
Tell them how you feel about getting tough on crime.
Tell them how you feel about the immigration problem we currently face.
Tell them how you feel about the GST reduction.
Tell them how you feel about government waste.
Tell them how you feel about governmental accountability.
Tell them how you feel about the CBC.

Bug MP’s For Change, Harper Urges

…OTTAWA — Conservative supporters and Canadians at large should flood their MPs with demands for the kinds of change they want to see in government, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said today.

…In a campaign-style speech, ostensibly to his governing Conservative caucus and their staff but obviously aimed far beyond the parliamentary precinct, Harper said the electorate has made clear its desire for something different.

…“On Jan. 23, Canadians voted for change, and they asked our party to lead that change,” Harper began the 13-minute address to an over-stuffed ballroom, six days before the return of Parliament.

…He concluded the address, carried live on two television networks, by inviting average Canadians to continue reminding their elected representatives why they are in Ottawa.

…“We’re going to need the active support and involvement of Canadians, our supporters and all Canadians right across this country,” said Harper, reading from teleprompters.

“We’re going to need all of them writing, e-mailing, faxing and telephoning their MPs to tell them to get on with the plan.”

…The prime minister may also have provided an oblique rallying cry against what Harper and his advisers see as a hostile national media and the current poisonous atmosphere on Parliament Hill over restricted access for parliamentary reporters.

…“We know what we have to do, we know what we want to achieve,” Harper told his 125 MPs and their staffs.

…“And friends, make no doubt about it, Canadians are with us.”
