‘We don’t want to be in a war’. Is Layton and the NDP serious?

image Well no, no they aren’t serious.  By that I mean they aren’t kidding, but that we shouldn’t take them seriously.  That’s why I call them the you’ve got to be kidding party.  This is the NDP, where the ‘P’ stands for pantywaist.  What they are is in fact the pantywaist party.  Again: the pantywaist party.

Lately, as our great country and brave fighting soldiers are in week two (it’s a “quagmire”!  It’s a “quagmire”!) of our lead role in Afghanistan in the war on terror, Jack Layton of the you’ve got to be kidding party has already started giving solace to the enemy —Islamofascist terrorists who want all of us exactly dead or Dhimmi.  And as if on cue, he is dutifully caving to the terrorists’ war-time strategy of making a bloody mess of that whole “war thing”, which is usually so dignified and free of bullets, so that moonbat liberals in the west start questioning their country’s commitment to the war.

I’m sure the Taliban completely agrees with Jack Layton’s stance.  Hello?  Is this thing on?

Layton takes pride in validating the terrorists’ actions by caving to them and admitting they’re successful, and in so doing, is generally putting Canada’s brave fighting soldiers in jeopardy.  Great.  Questioning Canada’s legitimacy in fighting the war on terror in Afghanistan is precisely what the Taliban and Al-Qaeda want the moonbat left to do.  Way to go Layton.  Go team.

Of course Layton’s favorite TV network and news media conglomerate, the socialist state-run CBC, calls the war on terror “the ‘so-called’ war on terror”.  So he’s got backing at home from, well, everybody in Canada in a taxpayer sort of way.  No wonder he and his ilk take him and that party so seriously.

‘We don’t want to be in a war’

In the wake of two fatalities and fresh waves of attacks on Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan, NDP leader Jack Layton demanded yesterday a parliamentary vote on Canada’s role in the country.

“This is very disturbing to Canadians and it’s vitally important that we have, in the House of Commons, a full debate on our mission, its terms, our goals, because that really has yet to happen,” Mr. Layton told CTV’s Question Period.

Troops are now involved in what is becoming a long, drawn-out conflict and Canadians should be told exactly how long the country’s commitment will last, he said.

“We certainly don’t want to become involved in a protracted war. The goal of Canadians being in Afghanistan was a more traditional role of peacekeeping, peacemaking that’s extended into an ongoing war-like position. It’s certainly something I think a lot of Canadians have concerns about and we share those concerns,” he said. […]

How come he never has any positive suggestions for, oh I don’t know, winning the war?  Or is “leaving” and “let’s see what happens” what he calls “winning”?

Conservative Foreign Affairs Minister Peter McKay, being a reasonable and sensible man, said the obvious in response to the pacifist terrorist-appeaser Layton:

The last thing that we want to show is any wavering or any backing away from the commitment of our Canadian troops. We have to be 100 per cent behind them. We have to demonstrate in every way that we support the important work that they’re doing and to that extent, this government is 100 per cent behind our troops

This web site fully supports the war on terror wherever it must be fought, including in Afghanistan and in Iraq.  This web site supports the Iraq War.  This web site supports all the Americans including U.S. President George Bush in the war on terror, and supports all the military personnel fighting from Canada, the United States, Australia, Great Britain, and from the many other countries that comprehend the necessity of this effort, and for as long as it takes.  This web site does not support appeasers and pantywaists like Jack Layton and the NDP.
