Vacation continues: …and starts to wind down

Before I finally get back into the usual political blogging and my incessant exposure of liberal-left hypocrisy and deceit and lies and foolishness and the general disingenuousness of every single thing they say and their efforts or willingness to wreck our Canadian families and values and morals and traditions and our Canada for their own purposes, I still have a couple of days of “official” vacation time left.  (Apparently I still remember how to do the politics thing though, so that will bode well for next week.)

We spent the day in our own community yesterday, as we wind down from having way too much fun and relaxation.  Crab cakes with a good beer or wine (or in our case beer and Chi-Chis) in Steveston, just a 15-20 minute drive to the other side of the mighty Fraser River from us, is a favorite thing to do on any day off, but this is the second time we zipped over there in two weeks.

This is my wife Jo-Anne doing just that, below (and looking a little sad because there’s only a few more days of fun left….):

Note the ProudToBeCanadian.ca baseball cap! We used to sell these online, and as a testament to their inherent coolness factor and their right-on fashionable value and their lasting quality and tremendous durability, we still wear them today.  Here’s the actual graphic used on the ball cap:

Yee hah.

And here’s a good representative sample of how it is often found during our vacation:  accompanying a round of cocktails or a mess of bad-for-you food.

Our community is a mix of farming, fishing, and massive commercial ports that deliver Canada’s goods afar, and receive them from afar.  One side of the street you can see this:

Here are some of the fishermen tied-up at the Steveston docks selling their catches of: octopus, shrimp, prawns, salmon, tuna, sardines…

Next week it will be back to the octopi of a different kind, snakes, slugs, sundry slimy ugly things, bugs, …and of course on the brighter side, the conservatives of the world.
