Two sentences ignored by media but which matter.

Yesterday, I caught two statements made by two individuals but they were related in my mind.  And I think they spoke volumes about the progress we’ve made in this country since kicking the liberal-leftists out of power just two short years ago (it’s about actual progress, for you liberals who are still utterly confused about the true meaning of the word).

Neither of these statements will be highlighted by the liberal-left’s Canadian media division, so I will highlight them here for you very few Canadians who are here at this web site seeking a non-liberal-leftist or Marxist point of view:

On the state-owned CBC, Canada’s defence minister Peter MacKay speaking with regard to the Manley Report and his efforts to secure the extra support Canada needs in Afghanistan.

Canadian defence minister Peter MacKay: “…I’m going to continue to work like the devil behind the scenes to try to secure a greater support on the equipment and the troops, and I know my colleagues in foreign affairs and CIDA are constantly liaising with their partners as well.”

Mr. MacKay has not, nor will he be in the future, working “like the devil” on this front.  As most of us in the sensible set already know, or as we can see if we open our eyes, it is more like the exact opposite of the devil.  Next clip:

CBC reporter to visiting Polish foreign minister:  “Has Canada either through the Manley Report, or simply because it has to make a difficult decision prior to February 2009, has Canada become a catalyst for people to think more seriously about what their contribution to Afghanistan …?”

Polish foreign minister:  “Canada has given us all a good example, and has inspired us, to make greater efforts to make a success of the Afghan mission.”

Canada has been a good example, and is an inspiration, and I don’t think most good people are “inspired” by the “good example” of …the devil.

Of course I don’t speak for Layton or Duceppe or Dion or any of those folks—or any of the folks who are inspired by their disgraceful example.
