Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano admitted Monday that she has not read the controversial Arizona immigration law even though she’s gone on television to criticize it, and continued to assert that it was “bad law enforcement law.”
The admission comes after Attorney General Eric Holder, who earlier warned the law could create a “slippery slope” toward racial profiling, told a House committee last week that he had not read the bill either. On Tuesday, State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said he too had not read the bill, even as he defended diplomatic official Michael Posner for comparing the law to Chinese human rights violations.
Unlike the Obamatons’ thousand-page “health care” (wink!) law, which they also never read, the germane section of the Arizona law, which really just replicates U.S. federal law and makes it state law as well (so SOMEONE who IS WILLING TO can finally legally ENFORCE it), is only about 10 or 12 pages long, and is an easy read even for know-it-all ideologues like Democrats and liberal media reporters.
This reminds me of when the CBC’s Suhana Meharchand offhandedly “reported” it on their news channel as… “draconian”. I’ll bet a peso (8¢ Canadian) she hadn’t read it at the time she said that, and like 99.9% of all liberal media geniuses and other critics, who have all been egregiously misreporting it, she probably still hasn’t.
Somebody please point me to the scary, “racist” bits!
