Marion Barry, the former mayor of Washington D.C., and now a councilman, was arrested, yet again, this time for stalking a woman. He’s currently on probation for tax evasion. He has also been arrested for smoking crack cocaine, one of 14 charges police brought against him for which he was convicted, fined, and sent to jail for six months, with the judge saying in his sentencing that Barry is “a compulsive user of cocaine”. By the way, he was smoking the crack while in the company of a woman who was not his wife, which he apparently did often, to the point where some seem to describe him as a womanizer or even a pervert or perhaps somebody who is obviously what we would call a “John”.
So yes, he is a current councilman, and he was elected and re-elected by those of his political persuasion, after all of that and more. And endorsed by major liberal media outlets like the Washington Post.
So let’s guess the political party persuasion to which he and his voters belong. Here’s a hint: The CNN article about his arrest today mentions nothing about his political persuasion. Not a word. Not even a (D) or an (R) beside his name. Therefore, we already know he’s not a Republican, and that helps us in trying to figure it out.
D.C.’s Marion Barry arrested again
WASHINGTON (CNN) —Former D.C. mayor, now Washington councilman, Marion Barry has been arrested again.
On July 4, the U.S. Park Police arrested Barry and charged him with misdemeanor stalking.
About 8:45 p.m. in Anacostia Park, a Washington woman flagged down a Park Police officer on patrol and pointed to Barry, who was in another car. The woman said Barry was stalking her, Park Police spokesman Sgt. David Schlosser said.
Barry was taken into custody, processed and released, but he must make a court appearance for the charge. A court date has not been set. …
CNN isn’t alone. The liberal Democrats’ very own newspaper in Washington, The Washington Post, which endorsed Marion Barry in their pages, wrote an article today too. No mention of Barry’s party affiliating. None. The Associated press story: same thing.
Here’s a final clue as to his party affiliation, in case the media needs help identifying his political affiliation:
Another clue is that those are just about the only articles I could find about Barry today. Most of the other “scandal” articles are about people clearly and repeatedly identified as Republicans.
But don’t worry, there’s no media bias. You can totally trust that the liberal media isn’t driving an agenda, and it doesn’t think of you as a total dumbass.

Hey Dave,
Thanks for that. Somehow, I managed to beat CBC and CTV to the punch on this Marion Barry (Democrat) story! I posted my blog entry about Marion Barry’s latest scandal even before the CBC and CTV wrote up anything about him. I’m sure they will eventually get it posted, and they will of course mention that he is a Democrat, since it’s a political story.
