The Liberal-Far-Left: They’re coming out of the cracks, emboldened by their Obama

A number of seemingly small things over the past day or two struck me as some of the things we’ll remember when or if we don’t wake up and react and push back, and things suddenly go terribly wrong.  And how we’ll remember little incidences like these and think:  “Oh yeah… we shoulda seen it comin’”.

imageI had one of those what the hellll? moments when, in the most offhand way imaginable, the local AM radio radio news gal blithely reported that the idiot director and film maker (those would be my words), Oliver Stone, was seen triumphantly marching down the red carpet at the Vienna Film Festival with none other than the Venezuelan tyrant and increasingly communist dictator Hugo Chavez —to marvelous applause and cheering from the crowd.  She was so blasé about it —and almost happy or celebratory about it— instead of chiding it or holding it out as one of those “and get a load of this story, Tony” news items.  It struck me as a massive wake-up call.

Next time I thought about or saw a picture of Chavez was in the Drudge Report, in which he was extolling the virtues of Barack Obama’s rise to the presidency, and listing the many comparable qualities of himself to Obama, and suggesting that “we have to help him.”  Nobody asked why, exactly, “we” or he himself would want to do that.  And nobody in the media saw anything even remotely noteworthy or at least creepy or wrong with this?  Well, no, and that’s what struck me.

I also couldn’t believe my eyes or even my own mind when the mainstream media in Canada and the U.S. COMPLETELY IGNORED VAN JONES, and the almost unbelievable story being uncovered (not by them) about him, until, by shear force of the conspicuousness of the thing, they finally had to report that he was fired/quit his post as a top adviser in the Obama administration over allegations that he was a communist, a radical, a racist, a Jew-hating thug, a 9-11 “truther”, a liar, a guy who thinks Republicans are “A**-holes”, and more.  Many people in Canada and the U.S didn’t even know who in tarnation he was.  And even then, they left out all the real damaging parts about him and the fact that Barack Obama and his administration actually hired this guy — and who knows how many others like him (some of us outside of the mainstream media do know of some Obama aids and advisers with equally appalling credentials and pasts) —in their Obama-coddling coverage, or abject, selective lack, thereof.

And last night on O’Reilly’s show, I couldn’t believe how this is happening:  the “John Adams Project” is taking place right under the news media’s eyes, and is not being reported.  In light of how they were so upset over the Valery Plame nonsense.  I’m used to the bias of the news media, but this is all getting very bad now.

Note how the smarmy subject objects to being filmed by the O’Reilly Factor producer, even though that’s exactly what she does, but which she and her group does in order to purposely harm Americans —to put innocent lives—and America generally —at grave risk.

David Horowitz picks up that today in a newsletter (and plugs his book at the same time, which is good work if you can get it).

The O’Reilly Factor went after the John Adams Project tonight. Kudos to O’Reilly for doing this. The project is to follow CIA officials around and photograph them and show the photographs to Guantanamo terrorists. O’Reilly condemned this exposure of America’s defenders to America’s enemies as disgusting. And he zeroed in on the olympic hypocrisy of liberals who pretended to be concerned over the exposure of Valerie Plame’s covert identity but think nothing of exposing other CIA officials (who don’t share Plame’s leftwing agendas).

Yes, but hypocrisy is second nature to radicals because they are on a mission from their god and like the Islamic terrorists they believe that lying to infidels is fair game. What O’Reilly doesn’t concede yet (you could gather this from his discussion with Glenn Beck in the next segment of his show) is that radicals like these ACLUers are willing and self-conscious accomplices of America’s enemies. In Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left, I explained why they are. …

I added Horowitz’s book to the PTBC Amazon store.

York: Journalists More Interested in Denying Conservatives a Victory Than Exposing Jones

image In his column in Tuesday’s Washington Examiner, Byron York, who in a Friday blog post recounted “The Van Jones (non) feeding frenzy,” asked: “Why did the press ignore the Van Jones scandal?” The chief political correspondent for the paper answered: “The question may not be so much who they are, as who they hate, or at least who they intensely dislike.” York pointed out:

The first words of the [New York] Times’ story on Jones’ resignation were, “In a victory for Republicans and the Obama administration’s conservative critics….”  One news anchor suggested Jones was “the Republican right’s first scalp.”  Other coverage called the Jones affair a victory for Glenn Beck, Fox News, right-wing blogs, and even Sarah Palin, who played no role in the matter. If you throw in Rush Limbaugh, you have all the bogey-people of the conservative world. To some on the left, including some journalists, denying them a victory was a top priority, no matter what Van Jones had said and done.

On the up side: “There was a day, not too long ago, when the Times and other influential news organizations could kill a story—could deny the bad guys a win—simply by ignoring it. Sometimes they still try. But it just won’t work anymore.”
