State-run media gets $60 MILLION liberal-left boost

Apparently, in true liberal style, the Liberals in Ottawa think that in order to get the state-run CBC’s non-existent viewership up, an additional $60 million of taxpayer money is needed.  And so it has been pledged to the CBC for 2005-2006, for more radio and television programming that nobody listens to or watches, in competition against its own citizens and their enterprises which provide programs that Canadians actually want at no cost to taxpayers, in fact which produce considerable tax revenue for the liberals to spend in competition against them.

The state-run CBC has been getting a paltry ONE BILLION DOLLARS PER YEAR from taxpayers for many years for all their brilliant programming.  In my reading of the situation, so far, they think that hasn’t been enough to come up with even one popular show for Canadians.  So their plan isn’t working so very well.  But you see that’s why they are going to stay on their plan.  That’s how liberal governments work.  Spend billions.  Get nothing.  Spend more taxpayer dollars on it.  Makes it worse.  Repeat.  Get nothing.  Do it again.  Strike up a royal commission, which recommends more cash.

The CBC hasn’t shown up on these ratings charts as far back as I can see.  So now they will create some more losing programming with their extra cash.  Vote liberal.
