State-run CBC suffering mental difficulties at this time

image

When you click the link on the state-run media’s multi-gazzillion-dollar people’s web site to read the story about the CBC’s decision to bump Peter Mansbridge and The National this summer in order to show an “American-style” American show from the ABC network, we’re asked to please accept their apologies.  I don’t accept, but thanks for the laugh.  (And are our taxes not high enough for you?)

Maybe li’l socialist Peter Mansbridge groupies are staging an internal coup inside one of the 900 huge prime real estate downtown palaces the CBC occupies across Canada (which they call “broadcast centers” but which are more properly called socialist “early learning” centers).  One can only hope.

Even the Toronto Star, one of the most far left newspapers west of

Cuba

Vancouver Island, is seizing on the opportunity to mock the ridiculous decision of the CBC, which was an allegedly conscious decision allegedly made while they were sober, to choose to mock Canada and Canadians who are paying for this state-run socialist network with their tax dollars.  Of course the fact that the state-run media is attempting to compete against its own citizens with taxpayer money doesn’t even remotely faze the leftist Toronto Star.  No no.  Don’t even ask what kind of a government would do that, Torstar!  What disrupts the composure of the anti-American leftists at the Star is the fact that an “American-style” American show is bumping a Canadian CBC show (a state news show which is always massively wiped-out in the ratings by the private enterprise news shows anyway).

The Toronto Star’s columnist Antonia Zerbisias will definitely make mention of this too, today—probably in “her” blog—since she has twice taken the time to notice how at a web site called “ProudToBeCanadian”, they have… wait for it….  American columnists!  Denoted by American flags!  (Oh the horrors!  The non-anti-Americanism!).  She never mentioned anything about ProudToBeCanadian being Joel-run rather than state-run nor that it wasn’t any of her damn business, nor does she even sheepishly admit that she obviously misses the point of ProudToBeCanadian, but anyway, she should mention all that today about her beloved state-run CBC because her beloved CBC is something with which she is hilariously, hideously intimate.

For my part, I will continue to use this ProudToBeCanadian web site to insist that state-run and state-owned media be banned in Canada, and that such a ban be enshrined in our Constitution.  Zerbisias and other proud Canadians should catch on one of these days.

Update:  CBC’s “technical difficulties” in presenting the news article about this is now resolved.  Perhaps they all had a group hug and got some taxpayer-paid emotional counselling to address their “yucky feelings”.

CBC-TV’s decision to displace its flagship news program this summer to make way for a U.S. reality show is drawing criticism from public broadcasting advocates.

…this is the first time that the evening news program is being shifted around for an American-made show — a decision questioned by the NDP’s federal heritage critic, Charlie Angus.

To dump what he calls the premier news program in Canada “for titillation television from the U.S. because it’s the latest reality TV craze, to me is an indication that CBC management [does] not have a vision for broadcast in Canada,” Angus said.

Angus is delirious with socialist utopian hopefulness.  It’s exactly the worst news program in Canada and has the worst ratings of any regular network national news.
