Spying China gets more aid every year than Liberals’ tsunami aid

China is a country on a buying binge.  They’re getting rich by gradually getting into the business of, well, business.  Enterprise.  Capitalism.  There are Chinese citizens driving around in Ferraris nowadays.  That whole socialism thing wasn’t working out for them.  Somebody should send a memo to Jack Layton of the socialist NDP and Paul Martin of the socialist-lite (or maybe just more gradual) Liberal Party.

Still communist of course, the Chinese government is actively buying up companies around the world.  Here in Canada, they are seeking to buy Noranda—a huge mining company (the biggest in Canada and one of the biggest on the world).  They want it all—100 percent of the shares, and are prepared to pay upwards of $6.7 BILLION for it.

Canada still gives $54 MILLION in foreign aid to China every year!  Contrast that to the $40 million in aid that has been pledged for the poor people in south Asia during the worst disaster in the world in decades.

But then there’s more. Yesterday I posted about this:

China has illegally targeted Canadian science and technology sectors and used visiting Chinese students and scientists to obtain classified information.

The pilfered information is turned over to China’s Defence Science and Technological Information Centre, a branch of the Chinese military that oversees a web of factories and institutions related to nuclear, aeronautics, electronics, shipbuilding and weapons industries.

The Conservatives are calling for the Liberals to have words with the Chinese ambassador and demand an end to the spying.  But really it seems as though the Liberals need to just get organized.  I know they’ve only been in power for a dozen years but you know, maybe hire a secretary or something.
