OBAMA SPEECH PREVIEW –
“We are the party of Roosevelt,” he said in the prepared remarks. “We are the party of Kennedy. So don’t tell me that Democrats won’t defend this country.”
Under FDR, America unilaterally attacked Nazi Germany for the sole purpose of regime change. Important European allies, like France and Germany, opposed us. It cost U.S. taxpayers more than $300 billion. More than 400,000 Americans were killed. FDR carpet-bombed Germany cities, intentionally killing civilians.
Today’s Democratic Party is not the party of Roosevelt. It may well be the party of JFK—who blew the Bay of Pigs by refusing to provide air cover and who started the ill-fated Vietnam War.
