In contradistinction to what the Liberals in the Prime Minister’s Office are telling us, a CTV News story is reporting that “several people went to the Prime Minister’s Office as early as August with evidence of scandal in former federal Immigration Minister Judy Sgro’s election campaign and office.”
CTV’s Mike Duffy reported that “What Conservatives have been hearing from a number of Liberals is that the reason that this man Ihor Wons was not fired last November or earlier is because the Prime Minister’s office was directing this entire affair going back as far as last summer.”
Martin spokesperson Amy Butcher told the paper that it is “absolutely not true” that the PMO was presented with evidence from whistleblowers.
“There were rumours. We were provided assurances by Mr. Wons and Ms. Sgro that things were conducted above board,” she told the [Toronto] Star.
“It shouldn’t surprise you that we took our minister at her word and we continue to believe strongly in Ms. Sgro,” Butcher said.
No it shouldn’t surprise us, it should shock us out of our booties.
