During a ceremony today in the Quebec National Assembly’s Red Room, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Quebec Premier Jean Charest signed an agreement establishing a formal role for Quebec in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
As I understand it the Quebec rep will sit within the Canadian office as part of, though a distinct part, of the Canadian team. The words “through Canada’s Permanent Delegation” appear, for example.
And in the official delaration signed today with the Quebec Premier, Jean Charest, this wording:
