PTBC Quote of the Week Award - September 7 2007

image I just read a quote which I unilaterally decided earns our (hardly at all ever coveted but it should be) ProudToBeCanadian.ca Quote of the Week Award.  The words are by Pope Benedict XVI.  They were spoken in an address to Australian political leaders today.  You probably didn’t hear about these words in the Canadian liberal media, because the state-run CBC was very, very busy explaining to you in a huge, long article, how that idiot George Bush said “OPEC” instead of “APEC” by accident in Australia, at that same meeting.  So that’s understandable.

“The fundamental human right, the presupposition of every other right, is the right to life itself … Abortion, consequently, cannot be a human right – it is the very opposite”

I’m sure the Pope will be very excited when he finds out he won our ProudToBeCanadian.ca Quote of the Week Award.

I read it here.
