Poll reveals that Canada is a solidly liberal-left socialist-loving nation

…at least on the surface.  Canadians for a generation or more have not really heard actual conservative thoughts and ideas fully expressed and explained in anything resembling a fair manner in our national old-fashion liberal news media (especially the state-run CBC division of the Liberal Party). Nor from any other media save perhaps the internet in limited form which, like this web site, all compete against the multi-million-dollar taxpayer-funded state-run CBC.ca web site and other such state-sponsored web sites like the gay-marriage-promoting web site egale.ca.  And of course there’s the countless other state-sponsored (and therefore inevitably liberal-friendly, as per design) media which is almost all state-sponsored in Canada today—just look for the Liberal Liberal sponsorship sponsorship logo following absolutely every Canadian TV show or movie and at nearly every festival or event which isn’t already sponsored by state-run corporations like Canada Post or Via Rail.

Nearly everybody in Canada now works either for the government directly, or for a government agency or crown corporation, or for a company that relies to some degree—or entirely—on liberal-left nanny-state sponsorship.  Canadians have—by design—become completely or nearly completely dependent upon the liberal-left political parties who believe that the government can spend your money and look after you better than you and your family can—because you’re too stupid and lazy.  It’s the Soviet model.

And what with academia now fully taken over by liberals and Marxists in Canada right from grade-school through universities and colleges, it will take brave Canadians to actually explore and seek out ideas other than those spewed-out daily by the tired old liberal-left—to make a change in attitudes and voter preferences.  Those trying to advance conservativism will have to be encouraged and supported in every way by the rest of us conservatives who have money or other resources, and a willingness to advance the conservative cause.  It will take conservatives acting up and raising their voices and raising the flag, as it were.

As all conservatives know and I suspect a good number of other Canadians privately agree, conservatives and their ideas are ignored or even mocked more than they are explored, explained, or discussed in the media and in academia in Canada.  The degree to which that changes is a measure of how much conservatives—actual average conservatives—care to make it all change.

Ipsos-Reid released another poll today.  It shows how the Liberals are the favored political party in Canada.  And when combined with the people who would vote NDP, it shows how conservatives are shunned by the vast majority of Canadians—a people who are solidly liberal-left largely, I think, because they’ve been told to be so, and they’ve heard no positive reason not to be.
