Columnists Don Martin and Greg Weston are both sticking their necks out and naming December 8 as the date the liberal-left house of corruption will possibly come a-tumbling down. Not a hard date to pick because that’s the date the spending estimates are to be voted on. Now we have another date to look forward to!
Don Martin (subscription required):
Perhaps the best scenario would be for all three parties to defeat the government during Dec. 8 voting on spending estimates, sending Canadians shivering to the polls on Jan. 14. I need a new parka.
Greg Weston (in his good column today—worth reading—no subscription required):
In keeping with our long and illustrious career of losing all manner of political bets, we are proud to announce that a loonie is hereby plunked down on Dec. 8 as the most likely date Paul Martin’s government will fall, with an election sometime in mid-January.
